"The subjects and places featured in the works of J VALENZUELA DIDI often convey the familiar, scenes of everyday life with figures and faces you might almost recognise. Yet there is something uncanny lying just beneath the surface. J has the wonderful ability to make the ordinary extraordinary and through this exhibition, we see the wonder and beauty found in the everyday. " – tjg team notes on J's solo exhibition ‘The Quiet Life’.

Section of J VALENZUELA DIDI'S painting 'Splitting at the Seams' as part of his current solo exhibition.   "I have a folder that I fill with interesting pictures of everyday moments. As I’ve returned to this file over the years, I’ve found that the images have evolved over time. I have altered and displaced the figures in these pictures to echo a transformation. An approach that gives rise to a dreamlike atmosphere where reality, memory and illusion collide." – J Didi

What inspires or drives you to create art? A.I have this internal impulse to create, that has been with me since I was a child. I’m not entirely sure what drives it. I’m quite reserved in social situations, so maybe it’s my subconscious way of emotionally communicating. Artwork.
