As half of MEGAN BARRASS'S family suffer from terrible hay-fever, she had to come up with a solution to replace the vase of freshly cut beautiful flowers on the dining table; that she so desired in her home each week. To replace that warm welcome feel that flowers so easily offer. The solution was to paint large canvasses of flowers – bunches and bunches of flowers, therefore giving and creating the so desired emotion. Thrilled to have new paintings by MEGAN BARRASS now at the gallery!  'Banksias, Fire Wheels, Christmas Bells, Grevillas and Small White Flowers' 101 x 152cm acrylic on canvas $ 3,150.00 with free packing and shipping Australia Wide !

"Taking inspiration from the tenebrism of Caravaggio, classically illusionistic figures appear within a kitsch surround to provide both visual richness and intrigue. And, by combining Eastern or Oriental patterns with Western perspectival representation, I aim to create a bridge connecting idealised Western imagery with spiritual symbolism from the Islamic world." – Murat  Study, Dancing 60cm tondo enamel, rhinestones, gold liner $ 750.00 #mythologicalart

“Women have always been bombarded with images of the ideal body shape through the media. This has escalated in today’s era of social media with the pressure to achieve the unachievable via exposure to unrealistic images, often enhanced by photoshop or filters. We expect celebrities and models to be beautiful; but what social media has done is provide a platform for influencers to flaunt their flawless skin, perfect curves and cosmetic surgery, which is now more accessible than ever before. As a result, body shaming has become as addictive as our daily feeds. Beauty (and women) comes in all shapes and sizes; and like art, is subjective. This is what ‘Woman on a Balloon’ represents. All women have the right to feel confident in their own skin and embrace their beauty, otherwise… just like a balloon under constant pressure, there will become a point where she will simply burst.” – Paul Trefry Woman on a Balloon 50 x 40 x 60cm mixed media silicone, epoxy resin and human hair  Please contact the gallery for a catalogue or more images, videos and information.  #australianartist

KATHRYN GALLAGHER'S new work 'Times Square' 1952 66 x 132cm oil on canvas $ 3,500.00 Pop Art is an art movement that emerged in the 1950s and flourished in the 1960s in America and Britain, predominantly drawing inspiration from sources in popular and commercial culture. Within this movement a conversation often emerged as to how imagery and iconography could have such a manipulative effect on people’s lifestyles. Kathryn’s work often provides a snapshot or window to a bygone era that is preserved and when sought out still lives on today.
