DELIA VILHELM 'Social Anxiety' 200 x 100cm oil and oil sticks on canvas $ 3,650.00 “As humans we encounter anxiety in the face of something ‘indefinite’ or ‘uncertain’. This work reflects the anxieties that surrounds the human condition, oneself, and one’s relation to the world. Humans have a need to create meaning from their lives, and the absurdity of the world and their own existence leaves them in a state of despair and anxiety. These ideas are investigated in this work through dark yet comical renderings.” – Delia    #pinkart

'Man Series Five' 56 x 56 x 2cm acrylic on canvas $ 1,195.00 by Sydney based artist JUDE HOTCHKISS   "During the recent lockdowns, my work became centered around family and home life. Digital sketching was a fast, experimental and fluid way of combining drawing with texture and colour. The faces can quickly become stretched and fragmented, but still, keep a sense of feeling and presence." – Jude

Section of PAT HALL'S watercolour on varnished stretched paper canvas painting ' Spray of Orchids'  122 x 91cm $ 4,200.00 with free shipping Australia wide.   "Many years ago I was told watercolour is old fahsioned and to switch to painting with acrylics but the thing that I love about watercolours is how you can see the paint flowing even when it is dry. It has a spontaneity that you simply cannot achieve with thick, sticky acrylics. One sleepless night it just occurred to me that there was no reason why I couldn’t stretch my thick 640 gsm paper around a frame just like you do with a canvas. It’s taken many years to perfect the process and my paintings are strong and waterproof. Many people mistake them for oil paintings" – Pat Hall

"Light and colour are the most important things to me when I am designing a painting. I work from photographs as I need to capture a particular time of day. I have many favourite places that I walk around with my camera. I design my paintings on my tablet piecing together many photographs, playing with background colours and literally painting with my finger. Watercolour is a very unforgiving medium so I need to have everything designed before I start. It is translucent therefore you cannot paint a lighter colour over a dark colour – you can’t change your mind halfway through. " – PAT HALL   Stunning works by Pat are on display for our 'Flower Market' exhibition! Image – 'Lotus I' , 91 x 91cm watercolour on varnished stretched paper canvas
