“I painted theses birds as they are connected to my history via growing up in North Queensland. I was always moved by their distinctive colouring and how they contrasted with the natural environment. To see these birds in the wild is one of the many moments I am grateful for in my life. The cassowary Image was sent to me by my cousin as it is seasonal visitor to his place at the Eubenangee wetlands near my childhood home town” – Dean Reilly
