Jenny Green’s sculptures are typically abstract and usually influenced by the figure. While the media she uses (steel, bronze and resin) may be industrial, her sculptures are light and airy. Her intent to capture an instant or a feeling is reflected in the tension between space and material. She uses lines, curves, shapes and colour to explore movement and emotion. The results are lyrical yet industrial, ‘drawings in space’.
Jenny has been sculpting for some 20 years and has a BFA in sculpture from the National Art School. Jenny has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions. She has been a finalist in major art prizes including the North Sydney Art Prize, inaugural Tom Bass Prize, Harbour Sculpture, Sculpture in the Vineyards, the Blake Prize Director’s Cut, Sculpture at Sawmillers and the Willoughby Art Prize. Her work is represented in corporate, public and private collections and she has won several prizes.
In 2015, Jenny was appointed to the Board of the National Art School. Prior to that she was President of the Sculptors Society for five years.
She received an Alumni Award for Arts & Culture form University of NSW in May 2016.
