Dollars and millions of them is the calling card of Las Vegas. Robert De Niro’s character in the film Casino (1995) refers to Las Vegas as “A place where millions of suckers flew in every year on their own nickel and left behind about a billion dollars. But at night, you couldn’t see the desert.” Las Vegas evokes so many images; flashing signs, lights, roulette wheels, dead celebrities, macabre wedding ceremonies, money, glamour, playing cards, gaming chips and so many emotions; hope, desire, power, love, despair, rage, and all delivered at a cost and for a defined period. The city itself is one big symbol. KATHRYN GALLAGHER'S work ‘Ace and Ginger’ captures beautifully the mesmerising hold this city has over its visitors, transients and inhabitants.  'Ace and Ginger' 91 x 152cm oil on Canvas $ 3,500.00

Pop Art is an art movement that emerged in the 1950s and flourished in the 1960s in America and Britain, predominantly drawing inspiration from sources in popular and commercial culture. Within this movement a conversation often emerged as to how imagery and iconography could have such a manipulative effect on people’s lifestyles. Kathryn’s work often provides a snapshot or window to a bygone era that is preserved and when sought out still lives on today. Solo Exhibition on now at the gallery and online via our website  Artwork 'Greetings from Tiki Village' 101 x 152cm oil on canvas

The paintings that capture ‘freeze frame’ moments sometimes introduce heroes of cinema that with Kathryn’s hand appear elevated even further but at the same time capture a modesty that draws you in, with a glint of revelation that these subjects are not that different to the everyday man or woman on the street. A moment of escapism and hope. KATHRYN GALLAGHER solo exhibition on now, sculpture in foreground by SAM HOPKINS. #casino
