“Growing up in a typical suburban Australian home in the 70’s, my first experience with paint was working with my father on the house. "One of the myriad of many beautiful elements in Nature are symbiotic relationships. Fungi living in soil connects the roots of individual trees creating a forest of communication. Humans’ survival is reliant on communication, nourishing the soul and necessity. EXHBITION OPENING EVENT – DEAN REILLY 5 – 7pm Friday 9th September ​ ​ ​"In the early 1940s Australian art and culture experienced growing pains, the colonial romantic yearnings and conquest of land had been expressed in lavish romantic colonial paintings and bush ballads for over half a century. Yet, the urbanised reality unfolding with modernity and progress was forming a new perception of landscape, a tension between space and the meaning of place. I can still see and feel these beautiful yet absurd tensions unfolding today, and this is what I try to express through my art" – DEAN REILLY  ​ ​Young Poet 152 x 101.5cm, 155 x 104.5cm framed acrylic on canvas $4,200.00 ​ ​​

Hopkins has received multiple awards, including the WA Sculpture Scholarship at Sculpture by The Sea Cottesloe 2020 and he continues to exhibit across Australia.  ​ ​​ #contemporarysculpture  ​ ​
