ink and pastels on unstreteched canvas
The Shape of Play draws on a recollection of my first teddy bear, remembered less for its appearance than for the comfort and companionship it embodied. Occupying a space between presence and memory, the bear becomes a trace of childhood and a holder of remembered moments.
Pastel was chosen for its soft, fragile surface, which mirrors the way memories shift and soften over time. Within the interior, the teddy bear suggests that play, attachment, and imagination continue to inhabit the spaces we leave behind.
