This work considers the interior as a site of residue rather than occupation. The figure is not depicted but implied through an empty contour, a negative presence that interrupts the stability of the domestic space. What remains is not absence as void, but absence as trace – an afterimage of bodily proximity that reorganises the surrounding objects and spatial logic.
The painting holds a moment after departure, where the room continues to register a presence that is no longer visible, yet structurally still in effect.
