"During many bushwalks this year, I have become even more aware and in awe of our native trees and how they speak to us through their sheer beauty, the textures of bark and the secret messages they send to us through scribbles. ‘Remember the Wild’ exhibition is an exploration and an appreciation of how these trees; through culture, sacred and spiritual connections, define the character of the Australian bush and our growing understanding of their significance." – Simone Read   Simone's solo exhibition with all new works is on now, pieces are available to be viewed and purchased directly via our website with Free Shipping Australia Wide. SIMONE READ'S – 'Remember the Wild' solo exhibition.  "My love and enchantment for our Australian landscape is evident in my wish to capture the spectrum of colours which then informs my freedom of application, raw vitality then emanates from the intricate details in my mark making. Because of the time-consuming nature of applying literally thousands of lines, I somewhat slip into a mediative state whilst painting. I hope to capture and invoke those precious moments when we take time out to communicate this closely with nature."- Simone Read

SIMONE READ'S New Painting – 'Scribbly Gum' 84 x 61cm ink and gouache on canvas $ 1,990.00 for her current exhibition 'Remember the Wild' "The scribbly dialect, which tracks around in a seemingly unsystematic and scrawled pattern, is one of my most adored Eucalyptus trees. I am fascinated how the scribbly gum moths have been writing the story of their lives on our gum trees for epochs, but the cause of the scribbles has always been a mystery. The mysterious scribbly gum moth takes its culinary expedition beneath the bark that sheds in the following year to reveal to us these secret messages. The scribbles are old and dry with no sign of their creator, no graffiti tag to identify the artist; a life I could not read." – Simone Read # gumtree

TERESA POON – Hot Pop Yellow, 10 x 10cm, acrylic on paint swatch paper $ 95.00 “Painted from the drive inland from Brisbane. I’ve always been intrigued by the scenery and the changing sunlight on drives from one town to another. I prefer to paint from photos, and I’ve wanted to capture the scenes I’ve spotted on the road¬—the mountains in the distance, the sun setting on the hills, the pop of flowers on the roadside, and so much more that passes by in just a moment. Unfortunately, I’ve since also become acquainted with the frustration of not being able to capture that moment in time when I’m the driver of the vehicle.” – Teresa
