The Flower Market
'The Flower Market' includes a mix of traffic jam galleries' artists with works responding to a botanical theme.
Elise Judd divides her time between her studio in Melbourne and farm in the beautiful hills of South Gippsland. Elise has been the finalist of numerous awards and prizes, her most recent being the Mayors Prize in the Waverley Art Prize 2019. She has also been a finalist in the SBS Portrait Prize, Norma Bull Portrait Prize and the Percival Portrait Prize and was awarded the Peoples Choice Award at Who’s Looking at You, Cambridge Gallery exhibition.
These works are reminiscent of a bygone era. When we stayed in the sun all day, lathering our bodies with baby oil and ate lemonade icy poles. The car would be overloaded with kids and our legs would stick to the vinyl seat because of the heat. You would want to have a seat by the window so you could roll it down to feel the breeze against your skin. These works show an innocent and carefree time and place
