Bec Pierce Designs

Rebecca Pierce since 1981 has worked as a designer going on to develop the fashion, accessories and homewares brand Bec Pierce Australia. Fine Art followed in 2001 and Rebecca continues to create across the mediums of painting, mixed media, photography, sculpture and design.

After a hiatus of over twenty years the label Bec Pierce Australia returns, launching with a capsule collection of silk scarves emblazoned with art taken from original works on canvas. Those familiar with both Bec Pierce designs and Rebecca Pierce original art will be accustomed to the reliance on the illusion of and texture, a palette of vivid saturated colour and the onus on quality, elaborate detailing and finish.

Artist Statement

Advanced technology provides the opportunity to double print scarves and the human touch finishes with a hand-rolled edge. Environmentally aware, the reusable drawstring bag doubles as a care and information label. The diversity in scarf sizes and material weights enables multi use – as a scarf, shawl, sarong and throw.

The art is created, designed and scanned in Australia and the product is prepared, printed, and finished in China’s renown Hangzhou Province. Hangzhou’s history of foreign trade, particularly in silk dates back thousands of years. ‘Wearable art’ reflecting a marriage of contemporary design and ancient skills.
