“The thing that I love about watercolours is how you can see the paint flowing even when it is dry. It has a spontaneity that you simply cannot achieve with thick, sticky acrylics. One sleepless night it just occurred to me that there was no reason why I couldn’t stretch my thick 640 gsm paper around a frame just like you do with a canvas. It’s taken many years to perfect the process and my paintings are strong and waterproof.” – Pat Hall
