“When the cruise ship, the Costa Concordia struck ground in the Tyrrhenian Sea, it precipitated surreal engineering dramas. The scale of the operation and the colossal waste of life and energy unfolded over a few hours, whilst the recovery required years. The two sides of this tale when straying from the world of order into that of chaos. The apples reference the original calamity when Eve strayed from Eden. Bravery and folly and all the possibilities of the unknown. This work might immediately represent the chaos of the historic event, but it really documents the return to order. Scarred tissue healing stronger.” – Edgar
