Edgar Schilter
Edgar Schilter is a Sydney based artist. Edgar completed a Fine Arts degree at the College of Fine Arts Sydney in 2008. His subjects of interest are decidedly honest, with recurrent themes of architecture, mechanics, technology and science. His work focuses on the methodical and meditative reproduction of detail in the hopelessly untrendy modern tradition of artisanry. His work turns the lens over the technical and structural and blends it with the patterning and textural elements often found in nature.
Artist Statement
“I find the world surreal. The most I could hope for is that my art gives a peek into the noisy world of my musing. An earnest attempt to nail these slippery ruminations to the wall. I want them entombed and permanent and a small witness of the mind cloud. Thanks for coming along.” – Edgar Schilter
