Brad Gunn is a sculptor working in a range of contemporary materials and techniques. His practice is often figurative and explores the psychology of interactions through surreal characters. The work is very process driven and requires sculpting, mould making, casting and painting.
Brad recently completed his fourth solo exhibition at Tacit Galleries in Collingwood and has shown work in multiple group shows, most recently ‘Small Works 2020’ and ‘Lucid’ at Beinart Gallery. Brad’s work ‘The Quidnunc’ was shortlisted for the 2020 Wyndham Art Prize and his recent work ‘Flopsy’ was selected for both the 2021 Gippsland Sculpture Award and the 2021 Wyndham Art Prize.
“I try to investigate people’s motivations and character traits through character studies. Humans are colourful and flawed and my work tries to capture this in metaphorical ways.” – Brad Gunn
